Meeting and Mapping the Inner Landscape: Low Verbalization Expressive Arts/Parts Work Strategies

An experiential training that brings together the theory and practice of Expressive Arts Therapy and parts-based clinical work. Participants will explore how creative modalities can help clients externalize their internal systems in ways that make parts visible, approachable, and workable without requiring a single word of verbal explanation. Particular attention will be given to trauma-informed and neuro-affirming applications for use in treatment with clients of diverse learning, communication, and processing styles. Through guided experiential activities, attendees will have the opportunity to explore their own internal landscape, deepening self-awareness and enhancing their work as clinicians through personal experience. Participants will walk away with practical tools for use in daily clinical work.
The experiential nature of this workshop may evoke uncomfortable emotions and sensations. Participants are encouraged to engage at a level and pace that feels tolerable for them.

The Art of Preparation: Expressive Arts Strategies for Phase 2 of EMDR Therapy (Virtual)

Preparation is more than calm/safe place, it’s the foundation for accessible, ethical, and meaningful trauma processing. In this experiential training, participants will explore how Expressive Arts can deepen and expand Phase 2 of EMDR Therapy.
Participants will learn modifications for traditional phase 2 resources to make them more accessible for diverse client populations. Particular attention will be given to neuro-affirming and complex trauma-competent applications.

Participants will develop practical strategies for mapping internal systems, fostering collaboration between parts, and honoring each individual’s unique way of experiencing and expressing their inner world.
